Macon Outreach began at MSUMC in 1971. Working cooperatively with other churches, businesses, area services, and volunteers, Macon Outreach now serves over 54,000 hot, nutritious meals each year from its Downtown Kitchen to those living in poverty in Middle Georgia. Additionally 7,000 families received emergency groceries this past year. Volunteers are needed daily to serve breakfast or lunch, register clients, give hugs, and assist with providing from Mulberry’s Clothing Closet and Grocery Pantry. Macon Outreach accepts food, clothing, and monetary donations.
A mission to assist senior, disabled, or needy Mulberry members by performing necessary minor repairs around their homes. Repairs such as minor rot repair, handicap ramps, painting, putting up or taking down Christmas decorations, light bulb replacement, etc. are the types of work done. The person requesting our help pays for the materials used, and the volunteers provide the needed tools and expertise. This mission has helped over 100 families at least once, some more, since its inception.
If you would like to participate in the work, or if you are in need of this type of assistance, please contact a Mulberry pastor or Paul Riley at (478)-477-4338. Your privacy is important to us.
Gazelles are a way we reach out to our Mulberry “shut-ins.” Volunteers are paired with people who can no longer get out on their own. Gazelles visit, call, and send cards to their “adopted” friend.
If you know of someone in the Mulberry community who needs a special friend or would like to be a Soul Friend, contact Marilyn Armstrong by email or at (478)-335-8363.
Hang tight while we look up scheduled events...
