  • Jimmy towson  

    Lead Pastor

    Jimmy grew up in Dublin, GA, graduated from UGA and Mercer Law School. He was a Georgia trial lawyer for 20 years and then answered the call into ministry as an ordained elder after receiving his M. Div. from Emory University. Jimmy is passionate about preaching, teaching and helping people grow in faith. He and his wife, Debbie, who was his high school sweetheart, love missions and putting their faith in action. They have one son, Jim, who is married to Gina, and 2 beautiful granddaughters - Eleanor and Josie.

  • Jeff Cook

    Associate Pastor  

    Jeff grew up in Montrose, Georgia and graduated from West Laurens High School in Dublin.  He attended college at Armstrong State University in Savannah where he earned a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy.  He met his wife Sandra and began to feel the call into ministry as part of the Wesley Foundation Campus Ministry in Savannah.  After working as a physical therapist for a few years, he answered the call to pursue ordained ministry.  He graduated from the Candler School of Theology in 2010, was ordained as an elder in 2012, and has served as the pastor of Montrose, Tennille and Christ (Albany) United Methodist Churches before moving to Mulberry in 2017 as Associate Pastor.  Jeff and Sandra have two daughters, Kinley and Audrey.

  • betsy abbott

    director of hospitality  

    Betsy grew up in Hancock County GA. After moving around for her husband to finish his college degrees, the couple settled in Jones County for thirty odd years. They now live at Lake Sinclair with their third son, Lewis. They are also the proud parents of Jay and Chris.  Betsy has been on staff at Mulberry since 2007.


  • bruce bishop

    Bruce grew up in the mountains of Western North Carolina. At Mars Hill College, not only did he receive a Bachelors in Music, but he also met his lovely wife Cam. He later went on to get his Master degree in Music from the University of Illinois. While Bruce might think he's an uninteresting person, we think otherwise and have been blessed by his presence ever since he joined us in 1985.

  • debbie towson

    director of macon outreach  

    Debbie grew up in Dublin, headed off to the University of Georgia, moved to Macon, married her husband, Jimmy, and started working at SunTrust Bank. She stayed at home after the birth of their son, volunteering at the church and local charities in the community. She then stepped into the ministry world with her husband, Jimmy, once he became a pastor in the Methodist Church. She became Executive Director of Macon Outreach while he served as an associate pastor at Mulberry St. UMC. In 2015, she returned to Mulberry as Development Director and now serves as Executive Director of Macon Outreach at Mulberry, once again.

    Young Clergy Intern

    Katy grew up in Powder Springs, GA. She attended the University of Georgia where she received her degree in Graphic Design. Once she graduated, she could not help but stay and work for the UGA Wesley Foundation, a campus ministry, where she mentored college students, made ministry graphics, and helped with outreach. Katy is happy to announce that she not only recently got engaged, but also moved to Macon to start a new season in her life.

    Linda grew up in Macon, GA. She and her husband, Gary now reside in Juliette, GA. She has been gladly serving the Lord at Mulberry Street UMC for almost 22 years and greatly enjoys her work.

  • pam johnston

    director of Children's & family Ministry  

    Pam grew up in metro Atlanta before moving to Macon to teach English at Mercer University and start a family. Seven years ago, God called her to serve in family ministry, where her passion for Christian education, faith formation and congregational care have filled a need at Mulberry. She currently studies at Candler School of Theology and is working toward ordination as a Deacon in the UMC. She has three children and loves hiking, yoga and her dog Gromit.

  • richard kosowski

    interim director of music  

    Rich Kosowski is a child of the Midwest who, born in Chicago, grew up around Green Bay, WI. He attended high school in the southern suburbs of St. Louis, MO and attended Truman State University in Kirksville, MO, from where he earned a Bachelor of Music Education. He holds a Master of Music in Performance degree from University of Miami (FL) and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Performance and Voice Science from the University of Houston (TX). He has held different cantor, chorister, and conductor positions in churches and synagogues beginning during his undergraduate studies and throughout his adult life in Atlanta, Miami, New York City, and Houston. While in Atlanta, he served as a children’s choir director in a number of local churches, and he also served as the interim director of music at Grace United Methodist Church. He and his wife, Mary Beth, have been married for 29 years. They have two children, Alex and Katie, who regularly sing on Sunday mornings in the Ainsworth Choir.

  • TREVOR WARD

    interim YOUTH PASTOR & newroom worship leader  

    Trevor was born in Macon, and spent most of his childhood growing up in Gray, GA. He began developing an interest in music during middle school, and started participating in the music ministry all around middle Georgia. He later went on to graduate from Georgia College & State University with a degree in Communication Studies. After college Trevor moved to Athens, GA where he served at The UGA Wesley Foundation serving on their Worship Team Staff. Trevor started working at Mulberry as one of the Worship Leaders for the NEWROOM service, and has also taken on the role as the Youth Director. Trevor is very excited to see how God builds these ministries, and loves every opportunity and challenge God puts in front of him.
